Is a bee sting treated with an over-the-counter antihistamine OSHA recordable?
No. A sting is work-related when it happens on the job, but over-the-counter medication at nonprescription strength and a cold pack are first aid. An epinephrine injection or a trip to the ER for prescription treatment would change the answer.
Why
- Only first aid was given. Every treatment you checked is on OSHA's first-aid list. 29 CFR 1904.7(a)
This answer comes from the same rule-by-rule check used in the HardHat Binder OSHA log, based on the facts described above. Different facts can change the result.
