Is a sprained wrist wrapped with an elastic bandage OSHA recordable?
Short answerNot recordable
No. Non-rigid means of support, such as elastic bandages, wraps and non-rigid back belts, are first aid. A rigid splint or cast, physical therapy or a work restriction would make it recordable.
Why
- Only first aid was given. Every treatment you checked is on OSHA's first-aid list. 29 CFR 1904.7(a)
This answer comes from the same rule-by-rule check used in the HardHat Binder OSHA log, based on the facts described above. Different facts can change the result.
