Is a car accident in the company parking lot while commuting OSHA recordable?

Short answerNot recordable

No. Injuries from a motor vehicle accident on a company parking lot or access road while the worker is commuting to or from work are an exception to work-relatedness. Driving between job sites during the workday is different — that is work-related.

Why

This answer comes from the same rule-by-rule check used in the HardHat Binder OSHA log, based on the facts described above. Different facts can change the result.
