Is a massage for a sore back OSHA recordable?
Short answerNot recordable
No. Massage is on OSHA's first-aid list, as are hot or cold therapy. Physical therapy, chiropractic treatment or a restriction from lifting would make it recordable.
Why
- Only first aid was given. Every treatment you checked is on OSHA's first-aid list. 29 CFR 1904.7(a)
This answer comes from the same rule-by-rule check used in the HardHat Binder OSHA log, based on the facts described above. Different facts can change the result.
