OSHA recordkeeping · 29 CFR 1904
Is an x-ray that shows nothing OSHA recordable?
No. Visits to a clinician only for observation or counseling, and diagnostic procedures such as x-rays and blood tests, are not medical treatment. Record the case only if it also meets another criterion.
Why
- No death, days away, restriction, treatment beyond first aid, loss of consciousness or significant diagnosis. 29 CFR 1904.7(a)
This answer comes from the same rule-by-rule check used in the HardHat Binder OSHA log, based on the facts described above. Different facts can change the result.
