Is light duty after an injury OSHA recordable?
Yes, when the restriction starts after the day of injury. A worker who can't do one or more routine functions of the job — for example, no climbing ladders or no lifting over 20 pounds — or can't work a full day is on restricted work, recorded in column I.
Why
- The worker was restricted or transferred after the day of injury. 29 CFR 1904.7(b)(4)
This answer comes from the same rule-by-rule check used in the HardHat Binder OSHA log, based on the facts described above. Different facts can change the result.
