OSHA recordkeeping · 29 CFR 1904
Is it OSHA recordable if the doctor recommends days off but the worker comes in anyway?
Yes. When a physician or licensed health care professional recommends days away, you record the days the worker should have stayed home, even if the worker decides to come to work. Count calendar days after the day of injury, up to 180.
Why
- The worker missed at least one day of work after the day of injury. 29 CFR 1904.7(b)(3)
This answer comes from the same rule-by-rule check used in the HardHat Binder OSHA log, based on the facts described above. Different facts can change the result.
